Lucy Oldham

Lucy is a researcher at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC), Edinburgh, UK. Her research focuses on the affective and cognitive components of animal welfare, particularly their role in explaining the proximate causes of aggression in pigs. She also has an interest in social network analysis as a way of understanding how animals experience their social environment. She is a member of the ECR (early career researcher) committee of the Animal Welfare Research Network, based in the UK.

There are nearly 700 members worldwide and each year the Society assembles for a major International Congress, where in addition to addresses by special keynote speakers, members present their latest research findings. There are also regular regional conferences held to encourage local knowledge exchange.
