57th International Congress
The Congress of The International Society of Applied Ethology (ISAE) will take place in the city of Curitiba, Brazil from July 22 to 26th, 2024, on the campus of Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Parana (PUCPR).
The ISAE 2024 conference will focus on how the study of ethology can strengthen our relationships with various living systems in our environment. The conference organizers invite you to submit original proposals that address, for example, the study of ethology’s impact on the relationships involving the sustainable use of natural resources such as soil and forests, current challenges associated with climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, the health and welfare of humans and animals, and the impact of ethology on agriculture, conservation and technology.
The eagerly awaited conference focuses on the interrelationships of scientific disciplines studying the behavior of living systems in the environment. Scholars and researchers worldwide are invited to explore the intricate connections between animals, humans, and their surroundings, aiming for a profound understanding of the natural world's complexities. Promoting collaboration, the event welcomes participants from diverse backgrounds, including scientific associations, companies, public authorities, institutes, and universities – both national and international. Together, we strive to address current challenges and build a sustainable future, fostering harmonious relationships between living systems and their environment.

Future Congresses

If you and your research institute are interested in organising an ISAE Congress in future (2026 and beyond), please contact the ISAE Senior Vice-President (currently Mark Rutter, ) for more information. We usually have the ISAE Congress alternate years in and outside Europe, but the guidelines are as flexible as we make them.
In the event of cancellation of a congress (e.g., as a consequence of a disease outbreak or acts of terrorism), the ISAE retains the right (by ‘force majeure’) to keep congress registration fees to cover outstanding expenses, if absolutely necessary.
