Call for experts: Specialist Commissions of the OIE
The Director General of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), Monique Eloit, has sent out a call for nominations for election to the 4 Specialist Commisions of the OIE:
- Terrestrial Animal Health Standards Commission
- Aquatic Animal Health Standards Commission
- Scientific Commission for Animal Diseases
- Biological Standards Commission
The objective of this call for nomination is to establish a list of suitable experts from which the OIE Delegates to the World Assembly will elect members of the four Specialist Commissions for a term of 3 years commencing in May 2018.
Candidates elected for appointment to a Specialist Commission will be notified after the World Assembly elections in May 2018 (in time to begin preparation for the September 2018 meetings of the relevant Specialist Commission). The role of the members varies according to which Specialist Commission they are elected to. Fundamentally, members engage in group work with other experts to reach consensus on scientific matters in relation to the OIE’s international standards.
The details concerning the Call can be found on OIE webpage, including more detailed information on the Call, including the selection criteria and how to submit applications. Applications should be submitted through the online registration:
Please note that the Call will be open until the 11th of September 2017 at midnight (Paris time).
Should you have any questions or comments on the Call kindly contact the OIE by e-mail:
