Ophelie Menant pig

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Teagasc, Moorepark, Ireland, working on the welfare of pigs raised outdoor. After completing a PhD (2017) on sheep emotion using neurosciences approaches, I did a first postdoctorat at the Veterinaty University of Montevideo, UdelaR, Uruguay, on sheep welfare and production. I am interested in understanding the mental mechanisms that influence animal welfare, particularly how animals perceive their environments and, experience and espress stress or comfort. By studying these mechanisms, I aim to improve animal welfare through optimized living conditions that promote mental and physical well-being.
