Oluwaseun Serah Iyasere

Dr. Oluwaseun Serah Iyasere holds first and second degrees with first class honours from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria. She obtained her PhD from the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Newcastle, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom in 2014. In 2021, Dr. Iyasere received the highly competitive Georg Forster Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. She is an associate professor with interests in animal behavior and welfare, maternal care, bioacoustics, and cognition in farm animals. She is also an author; her eBook called ‘Go to the Hen‘ is generally a life guide as she reflects on some interesting animal behaviours using a rather uncommon Nigerian perspective.

There are nearly 700 members worldwide and each year the Society assembles for a major International Congress, where in addition to addresses by special keynote speakers, members present their latest research findings. There are also regular regional conferences held to encourage local knowledge exchange.
