Keelin O’Driscoll
Keelin is a research officer with Teagasc, the state agency providing research, advisory and education in agriculture, horticulture, food and rural development in Ireland. She carried out both her MSc (Edinburgh University/University of British Columbia) and PhD (University College Dublin) research on dairy calf and cow welfare and behaviour. She has also spent some time working at the USDA Livestock Behaviour Research Unit in Purdue University (cows) the University of Cambridge (ducks), carrying out research for a commercial nutritional supplement company (pigs) and at the Teagasc Animal Bioscience centre (molecular biology, bioinformatics). Since 2013 her research has focused on investigating practical, commercially adoptable management strategies, to improve the welfare of pigs.
