The 3rd Edition of Animal Welfare publishes in February 2018, continuing to provide a broad introduction to key topics in welfare of large and small animals, both farm and companion, wild and zoo. Also covering welfare of fish, amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates, it includes concepts of positive emotion, with a focus on animal welfare and sustainability. The 3rd edition:
- includes an integrated ebook with further material
- is accompanied by detailed videos
- contains more examples from different countries, including implications for small holders and larger scale agriculture

There are nearly 700 members worldwide and each year the Society assembles for a major International Congress, where in addition to addresses by special keynote speakers, members present their latest research findings. There are also regular regional conferences held to encourage local knowledge exchange.
